Nail Stamping; Moyou Pro Plate 7 XL

I have recently bought my first proper nail polish stamping plate! A Moyou #7 XL plate! I was so excited when I received it in the mail that I immediately removed the polish that I already had on, and started a new design, admiring the shiny plate.

I had already had some practice with stamping, but the plates were cheap nasty ones from Poundland and Ebay, and therefore were difficult to pick up the whole image and transfer it to my nail. On a whim, I decided to try a more expensive, much talked about brand which led me to Moyou.

The packaging was delightful, and I immediately got the hang of the stamping action, and it was so much better and easier than my cheaper knock off plates, even without special scraper, stamper or polish!. Obviously I'm not perfect, but I can practice!

I'm already looking at buying another few to add to my ever growing stash of nail products! Next time though, I wouldn't bother with the 'XL' tag on some of the products, and just get the smaller versions because I have small nails and could probably get away with it, and it also means up to 4 extra designs on each plate!

Here are a few of the first attempts at using the plate!

I've also just heard about The Clockwise Nail Polish's nail blog give away, where she is giveing away more of these fabulous plates, and other goodies such as Polishes that i cant get my hands on here in the UK, like ORLY and Essence, and two glitter polishes which I cant tell what they are, but they look beautiful!

Oh i do love winning!

I entered a competition with New York Colour (NYC) the makeup range on twitter telling them about my summer plans. However, the majority of my summer had already passed, so i told them what i had already done!

Its safe to say i squeeled a little bit when i found out i had won, i love their brand, their wide range of nail polish which is easy on the budget is a staple of mine. I also love anything i get for free, so to find out i was winning a NYC goodie bundle was exciting. About two weeks later when i returned to uni, i was welcomed with a little pink package waiting for me. I had also sent of for two 'free sample' of 'Cetaphil', a sensitive skin moisuriser and shower gel to try, and expecting small sachets, when these two lumps turned up i was very happy. Full sized!

NOTD : Gold French Manicure

This is the nail polish I've had on today, I used Cookies and Cream Essence polish as the base coat. It goes on smoothly and evenly, although it did take 3 coats for me to be happy with its opacity.

I then used Barry M's Gold Foil Effect on the tips to create a metallic french manicure finish. To top it off and i used the Claires Gel Clear Top Coat to try and keep it as long as possible!

The day after i did it i had one chip on my left had pointer finger, but i just redid the Gold polish, and then today after washing my hair i have three chips, one on the same finger and then two on my left hand thumb. The rest of the fingers are still perfect with no tip wear, which im happy about.

What should my next blog post be about? I'm leaning towards a 'daily makeup' or 'my favorite apps'!

Birthday presents for a 20 year old girl?

I had trouble thinking of things to buy my friend who has just turned 20. At 18 and 21, you can do the classic champagne glass, or something else with their age on, but for 20, and without wanting to spend a load of money, its quite difficult.

In the end, i decided to make a little 'compilation' of things...

Claire's Gel Top Coat Nail Polish

Enticed by the 'Gel' namesake when i popped into tween beauty and accessory shop, Claire's, i decided to take advantage of their 3 for 2 on nail products, along with two glitters.

The fact that the polish has the word 'Gel' in its name names me think of the long last, UV cured, professional manicures you can get, so i expected this polish to help prolong my nail polish. Here is the nails i did for easter weekend,.

Beauty Products and Collection 2000 Mascara Review

Okay, so i think i can admit i have a  bit of a obsession with nail polish, and had over 100 last time i counted (about 2 months ago). When i left all my polish at uni by accident, the 2 weeks i was at home i managed to acquire 11 new polishes... i need to stop!

As i use each of the polish's, ill do a review on them.

The Collection 2000 Super Size Fat Lash Mascara is the only thing I've used so far. I have one MAC mascara which i got a long long time ago, and i just reuse the brush from this, as i feel the brush is the best I've ever used, and you can use the cheapest mascara with the MAC brush and lashes turn plump, voluminous, and dark, which is good when you have blonde tipped eyelashes like me!

The mascara its self stays on for a full 12 hours without flaking, however when it comes to taking it off, there may be a slight grey smudge under my waterline, barely noticeable unless I'm looking right up close in the lit up mirror. The tube itself lasts me 6 days a week for about 3 months, as ive had this particular one before.
